Welcome to Broadbill Forest Camp, a mid range lodge located in Ruhija, on the Eastern edge of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, home to half of the remaining mountain gorillas and famous for gorilla tracking.
Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is a key destination for birders visiting Uganda and includes globally threatened species such as African Green Broadbill from whom the lodge derives its name.
The camp is calm and peaceful with fantastic views of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest making it a perfect place to totally unwind and relax, away from the pressures and stresses of everyday life.
Broadbill Forest camp is located at the very edge of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, encouraging birding on your balcony for the rare Albertine Rift Valley endemics in the east of the forest. Even after a long day's safari, you will not be tempted to put your binoculars at rest.

Our Staff are friendly and trained to meet international standards and will do everything possible to make you feel at home. The food is professionally prepared by our chefs.

Broadbill Forest Camp, Ruhija in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is very near to the briefing point, just 3 km from the park headquarters, making it very convenient for gorilla tracking.

We are located in Ruhija, Bwindi Impenetrable Forest which offers a great variety of activities.
This is one of the most famous activities. Gorilla permits must be booked in advance since they are a requirement for gorilla tracking. The lodge can arrange these permits from Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) on behalf of our clients if asked in advance or at the time of booking the lodge.
For walking safaris through Bwindi impenetrable forest, book in advance and our local guides will take you through. This also includes guided walk s to Mubwindi swamp and to a water fall.
This involves cultural dances from the local people of the community, visiting the Iron smelters, basket weavers and honey collectors.
Bwindi Impenetrable Forest has been voted best birding destination and with our birding experts, you can have the best birding moments especially for those Albertine Rift Endemics like the African Green Broadbill which is highly sought after.
Stories will be told by the knowledgeable elderly people about the rich history and culture of Bakiga over a camp fire, enjoying your beer, tea or coffee. This is arranged on request.

Broadbill Forest Camp will also offer pickups and transfers to all airstrips, to Kabale, Kampala, Queen Elizabeth National Park, Kigali airport and Entebbe airport at a fee. The camp has a standby 4x4 Land Cruiser.
We also do emergency rescues in case of vehicle breakdowns and stuck clients
